So far I have:

"Development of specific technologies in highly-efficient, reversible variable speed hydrodynamic machines"

but I think the highly-efficient/high-efficiency part is related to the variable speed as if it were referring to the machines it should be plural.

Help appreciated in sorting out this sentence!
