As the child of a diplomat, I got dragged around the world, here and there, every so often, from Germany (where I was born) to places such as Jordan, China, Brazil, and Italy. These experiences have provided me with great flexibility where language is concerned, and the love for language I've nurtured has led me to try to further explore such languages as Greek, Arabic, and Armenian.
I have studied mining engineering and/but have a number of interests which have provided me some very valuable insight where translation is concerned. My language skills have always been in the forefront - in one company I worked for, I was in charge of managing the translation of reports written in-house. All of this has added to my confidence, and it wasn't long before I started taking up translation and interpretation jobs ranging from fun editorials in Time-Out Istanbul to preaching sessions by Christian missionaries. I am currently involved with translating from Turkish to English for the Turkish Armenian newsweekly, Agos. |
