German term

je zur Hälfte (here)

German to English Law/Patents Law (general) Swiss divorce law
This is from the section relating to alimony/maintenance payments to be made to the respondent in a Swiss divorce decree.

I understand that the Applicant must pay maintenance (alimony) to the Respondent on the basis of the sums contained in the specified Articles of the Swiss Civil Law Code but I do not understand how these are "je zur Hälfte ..... von Fr. 6'000 . -- "

je zur Hälfte (here) Thanks, Robert,
Thomas Roberts May 28, 2014:
Makes sense. I have a paper copy of the civil code from about 10 years ago and the articles had already been repealed.

je zur Hälfte (here) Thanks Maria and Thomas for this suggestion. In answer to your question, Thomas, yes this decree is dated 1999.

one half pursuant to Article and one half pursuant to Article 152

i.e. 3000 under one article and 3000 under the other

Is this an old document?

half of this amount being due under Section X and the other half being due under Section Y

Die Rechtsgrundlage für die Hälfte der Zahlungen ist Artikel 151. Für die andere Hälfte der Zahlungen ist die Rechtsgrundlage Artikel 152

(based) in equal proportion on

Plaintiff commits himself to paying defendant monthly maintenance contributions of CHF 6000 based in equal proportion on sections 151 and 152, ZGB

The other solutions seem a bit long-winded, in my opinion.
Note from asker:
Dear Michael, Thanks very much for this answer. I di did in fact use your wording but I awarded the points to one of the two Europe-based translators whose answers came through first. They helped me understand what the "je" referred to - the two sections of the legislation - at a time when my brain was overloaded by the pressure of work. :-) Stepphen
