Persian (Farsi) term or phrase: همچنان آن را میفشارد
Greetings,

Interesting, this. Does the آن refer to the tooth which is hurting? In that case I suppose فشاردن would mean “to squeeze” here.

Or does the آن refer to the word درد i.e. pain (or the fact that there is pain)? In that case wouldn't فشاردن mean “suppress”? However, my dictionary doesn't give "suppress" as a possible meaning.

If I am right in thinking that همچنان means “continuously” here, we are talking about a continuous action making something worse and worse.

دوباره به عکس نگاه کردم. مثل کسی بودم که دندانش درد میکند اما همچنان آن را میفشارد و هر لحظه دردش بیشتر میشود

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon

Still keeps squeezing it

Explanation:
Hi

This phrase is exactly the same as the English "keep doing something." Of course, the squeezing does refer to the tooth, which aches and yet the person still keeps squeezing it with their other teeth.

squeeze

Explanation:
simon,

آن refers to the tooth and I think squeeze is a an appropriate equivalent for فشار دادن . for همچنان I suppose your suggestion "continuously" is ok, although "still" may be another option.

Squeeze

Explanation:
...Again I looked at the picture. I looked like a person with toothache that squeezes his teeth together making it more painful.
