wipe simple Explanation: In professional video, a wipe is still a wipe in Spanish (in most Latin American countries, at least). Since practically all pro video equipment comes with the buttons, dials and switches marked in English, operators, directors and tehcnical staff have simply adopted the words directly, or even worse "Spanglicized" them. So a "chroma key" is a "croma key", although a "luminance key" is often a "key de luminancia" or even a "luma key" (ugh!). Etc. And wipes are just wipes. |
