I have been a Conference Interpreter (working languages Dutch, English and Spanish) since 1996 and have developed my career in simultaneous interpreting both on the Brussels and London markets. I am mother tongue Dutch and my English is equivalent to mother tongue level after having lived and worked in the UK and New York for the last 12 years.

My resume will give you a general idea of what kind of work I have been doing but more recently I have also been involved in several extremely technical and specialised arbitration cases (offshore wind farms, oil platforms, banking matters) for the International Dispute Resolution Centre in London. Furthermore, I have worked on financial and technical cases (banking, shipping, ship owners, underwriters, shipyards) for the Royal Courts of Justice - Chancery Division. On a very different subject, I was the only interpreter to be asked to interpret the enthronement of the new Dutch king in 2013 for the live broadcasts of the BBC World Service and News. I am confident I have the necessary competence and expertise to accept any assignment and always prepare thoroughly for every job. You can trust that I will have an accurate understanding of the message, down to the finest nuance, thereby permitting a productive exchange of ideas

I am a member of AIIC, the only international association of professional Conference Interpreters, of the English Institute for Translation and Interpreting, and am also registered on the National Register for Public Service Interpreters as I have the Diploma of Public Service Interpreting with Law as my specialism.
