Welcome and thank you for visiting my profile page!
Throughout my career as a translator and localization services provider, I have been very fortunate to be able to interact with numerous individuals during the software development process (software developers, quality assurance engineers, technical writers, style guide specialists, project managers, glossary management advocates, support engineers, localization specialists, software build engineers, integration engineers, and many others) all forming a very diverse, multicultural, software development team. This team interaction has proved, time and time again, most helpful during the translation and localization process of each released software version. It has not only continued to kindle my interest in translation and localization, but has also been a factor promoting maximum quality - one of my major sources of professional satisfaction - for each localized deliverable (software module, GUI, online help, manual).
As you’ve probably gathered, I specialize mainly in software translation and localization, but I am also interested in other fields as well (environment, sustainability, multimedia, theater, voiceover…). So, if you have a software translation / localization project (or other project) and are in need of a translator / localizer, please do not hesitate to contact me via the “Send email” link near the top of this page.
I look forward to working with you.
Gary
Services Provided:
I provide the following services: translation, localization, proof-reading, editing, spot-checks, Localization Quality Assurance (LQA), validation and checking of user interfaces (GUI) in their localized version, style guide creation and update, glossary management.
Tools and software:
I mainly use Trados for translation running on a Windows-based platform with the Microsoft Office suite. Learning to use your in-house proprietary tools to localize your software does not frighten me. I’m familiar with using VMware for localization purposes and am open to new software tools and techniques in general. I own a couple of PCs and a laptop.
