Wohne in Worms und warte seit langem auf ein Treffen hier in der Nähe. Wie soll dieses Powwow denn ablaufen? Treffen wo und wann etc. wurde schon etwas festgelegt?
Bin eher interessiert wegen der Nähe, Termin ist egal, erstmal nur 'maybe'. Soll es ein lockeres Treffen sein mit gemütlichem Beisammensein, oder gibt es eine Art Planung?
Muss leider absagen: ich hatte nicht daran gedacht, dass meine Tante an dem Tag Geburtstag feiert, und ich eingeladen bin. Hoffentlich klappt's dann das nächste Mal.

I will keep on posting in English, in case someone who does not know Turkish decides to join us. One thing struck my attention: All of the participants are still Turks. Yet, as the title name implies, we have differences. I do not mean by that that we should polarise our differences. Yet, it can be a funny experience to find differences. For example: did you know which city is using DARI or ÇIGDEM words in Turkey?:) This is this city where I am originally coming from.... Along the discussion and presentation part of our powwow, you will be asked some questions about your perception how the people in your vicinity regarded something as... What was taboo and what not? How did taboo express itself with your friends, mother or family? What kind of music was the most appealing (classic, folk ...)? I am currently dilligently working on a history book about Turkey. Don't worry, you will not be bombarded with too much of it, but just enough to reason why nothing in Turkey can be reduced to one stereotype. Well done (in regard to Izmir)... I have looked for accomodation. There are two hotels I know of. One, a more regular venue for business purposes: Mercury Hotel. The venue I am currently planning is: Am Weissen Berg 13 64646 Heppenheim This is my home (yet partially under construction) and office at a time. I am planning to start it at 12.30H to give all of you sufficient time to be picked up from the station, if need be. Currently, it appears that we are only 4 people. Our all first objective is to get a good time together. To guarantee it, I will prepare some delicious Turkish food or make sure I will obtain it (My mother is planning to come and visit me from Turkey, so she may want to be involved in that!:)). Secondly, I will make a small presentation about Turkish language, the effect of other languages on TR, country, life style, books, music, education. This is just a briefing. It will bring some questions on your culture as well. So, get prepared!!!))) We will season the day not only with Turkish food and presentation but also music (unfortunately, I could not have invited any folklor team, due to our restricted numbers. Yet, I don't know how they would have replied if we were many..This is to be learned for another time).
Except this, you all are welcome to give your suggestions and contributions to make this day even more special.

ich habe gerade nachgeschaut und festgestellt, dass der 30. November ein Freitag ist. Können wir das Datum auf den Samstag, also den 1. Dezember, verlegen? Freitag ist ein Werktag, ich kann unmöglich mittag um 12.30 in Heppenheim sein, zumal der Verkehr freitags furchtbar chaotisch ist.

Sorry, dass jetzt alles wegen mir durcheinander gerät. Die Verschiebung kommt kurzfristig, das ist richtig, deshalb muss sie auch nicht vollzogen werden. Es war lediglich eine Anfrage, da ich bis dato davon ausgegangen war, dass das Treffen am kommenden Samstag stattfindet, warum auch immer. Wie gesagt, ich wollte Eure Planun nicht durcheinander bringen, das Treffen kann wie ursrpünglich geplant am 30.11. stattfinden. Leider kann ich in dann aber nicht dabei sein.

Thanks for your kind words, Özden. I am definitely trying to make it.
I am trying to find out the easiest connection by train to Heppenheim from Wiesbaden, because I prefer to take the train (hopefully they don't go on strike on Saturday) to go to Binnur's place, but I haven't had a chance to check this yet.
I promise to confirm at the latest by Thursday of this week, once I get my train ticket.
