In the sense of old devices that should be removed from an inventory.
Something like “weeding out” – but that would be a bit too colloquial in this case.

We also don't know what you mean by inventory - is it stocks intended for sale, or machinery used by the company? If it's the latter, disposal is the term most commonly used.

It cannot be so confidential to prevent you from summarising what follows this word - the problem is that we "out here" can't see your document and there are many ways of translating this single word. Unless you just want a list of synonyms and/or guesses, we need better context

Your added context changes things materially, I think. The computers in question are decommissioned or put out of service/operation (and can thus no longer be used/connected to the network), in my view. This is why something along the lines of "decommissioning", "disposal" or "out-of-service (status)" might be more appropriate than my previous suggestions.

Hence, "Aussonderungsmeldung" and "Aussonderungsformular" could be translated as "(asset) retirement notice/report" and "(asset) retirement form".

agree Jennifer Caisley : This is the only option, I think - possibly with a bit of beefing up in EN (e.g. "product discontinuation" / "stock phase-out", depending on what it's about), but it's near-impossible to say without further info!

As Jennifer C. intimates, more context would have been useful > quaere: 'old devices'-only removed from inventory, namely or to wit, I have usually come across this term as a contrast in bankruptcy: Absonderungs- bzw. Aussonderungsrechte > approx. preferential AmE preferred vs. pre-preferential AmE pre-preferred rights of satisfaction of creditors' claims.

PS IATE does have a 'weeding' entry, despite colloquial, 'weedy' British schoolboy taunts and gardening interference...

Indeed, but the vaguely framed question deserves the scattergun answer chosen, even if my retired-assets idea had been 'recycled' as an afterthought.

exclusion

The more I look at it, the more I think this has to do with exclusion, especially given the business/financial context. Presumably the devices or equipment were inventorized for conveniency but actually need to be excluded from whatever operations or calculations or whatever are now going to be performed on the inventory or whatever is inventorized.

For instance, maybe they were not inventorized in previous years and you want to do a like-for-like comparison of some sort. Year on year.
