martech Definition from own experience or research: Portmanteaus from English are generally kept in their original, untranslated form when translating for a Tagalog-speaking audience. This is because the original gist is kept intact by using the source English instead of forcing a Tagalog translation that might even cause confusion or require further explanation. Common examples of portmanteaus are "sci-fi" and "fintech"; we do not translate them into Tagalog as "agham kathang-isip" or "teknolohiyang pampinansya", respectively; instead we keep them in English.
