'Passbooks' are rare but still exist. yet, do not have the versatility of on-line bank account, now that the Internet has been with us for nearly 20 years. How could a 'passbook' handle 'treasury bond' transactions, fixed term deposits and current account transaction, all in the same book? Would settle for 'All-in-One bank account', Don't agree?

Brilliant! "All-in-one passbook" - one passbook serves as a passbook for all accounts. If it's a bit strange to refer to a passbook in an account name, simply "all-in-one" may do although it's ambiguous.

PortCity san. if this type of account offered by MitsuiSumitomo Bank is the same as that offered by SMBC. your wording is the right one. The interest is variable since the account balance can vary daily, accrues to the capital accordingly and may perhaps be summed and recorded monthly.
In the SMBC definition, the interest rate does not change according to a stepped scale as I assumed. The rate remains constant, regardless of the size of the account balance reached,

ここでは「残高別」は「毎日の残高ごとに」という意味なので、「残高別金利型普通」は、「毎日の残高ごとに利子が付く普通預金口座」と置き換えられます。Daily-balance-based interest earning ordinary account で通じそうです。

PortCityさんのいう解釈も考えられるのですが、そうしたら、銀行の述べている金利計算の結果は明白なので、それを述べる必要はないのではない、と思いませんか。

口座名は「普通預金口座（総合）」で、その口座を複数持っている名義人の、各口座の残高を示したものではないのですか？
