Italian term or phrase: rampa carrabile
From a description of a 16th-century fortress, there are several examples of ***rampa carrabile***, which are stone ramps inside the fortress leading from one level to another. They are flat (i.e. not stairs) to allow the passage of carts. I thought of 'carriageable ramp' but wonder if anyone can suggest a more suitable term? Thanks in advance.

ramp suitable for horse-drawn carriages

Explanation:
since this is in the 16th century, the precision seems necessary as carrabile/carrossable has no real single word equivalent in English

ramp suitable for heavy-duty carts & carriages

Explanation:
rcolin gave a good explanation.
However a "rampa carrabile" was also for carts with goods, food, etc... It was actually not just for horse-drawn vehicles, but for any heavy-duties carts and carriages, including those drawn by people (also mules, cows, donkeys, etc)
