Ich bin an der Übersetzung eines Gäste-Fragebogens für eine asiatische Hotelkette. Bei einer Frage bin ich auf einen mir nicht ganz klaren Begriff gestoßen:
During your stay we were testing the in-room innovation upgrades with the "handy" mobile device.
Did you use the "handy" mobile available in your room?
Overall, how satisfied were you with the "handy"?
Please share your comments specific to the "handy"
Es ist mir nicht klar, um was es sich hier handelt, hat irgendjemand eine Vermutung, was es sein könnte?
Bin für jeden Tipp dankbar :-)

: I agree that this suggested translation is the only option that makes sense. The source text is badly written. Handy would never be used as a noun in English normally, and obviously normally never means mobile phone!

"handy" is proper noun; never translate proper nouns!

: Vorzugsweise mit Bindestrich, ansonsten stimme ich aber zu. Siehe auch Links von Tanja Krieg oben.

Discussion
Not even sure they thought of the German Handy here - it may just be called "handy" because it comes in handy :)
