Portuguese to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Energy / Power Generation / Substation transformers
Portuguese term or phrase: caneco (in this context)
Os canecos, onde estão alojados os transformadores de corrente, tipo bucha, deverão estar embutidos na parte interna do tanque ou montados externamente.

There are no diagrams with these tender terms but I am guessing that this is the housing where the CT (current transformer) is housed. Can I just use housing or is there a proper word for this.

CASE

Explanation:
Comparing this:

http://www.elejor.com.br/iadm/arquivos/Convite_N.030-2011_AN...

"...Caso os **canecos, onde estão alojados os transformadores de corrente tipo bucha**, sejam montados externamente e seja necessária a remoção dos mesmos por questões de altura para transporte, deverão ser fornecidos flanges
apropriados para fechar tanto o caneco como o tanque do transformador"

to this:

http://www.idc-online.com/technical_references/pdfs/electric...

"Installation Considerations
This bushing CT is designed for use on existing
circuit breakers and power transformers and is
installed externally (See Sheet 11). **It is housed
in an aluminum case** which provides electrostatic
shielding..." (where "bushing CT" is "bushing current transformer")

I reached the conclusion that "caneco" is "case"
