Buenos días a todo el mundo. Me dirijo a ustedes para pedirles ayuda con la interpretación de la siguiente frase:

"Martin Cole tentatively referred the Red Ox agricultural artifacts to the Levantian culture, which he assigned to the Sumerian barley agro-region".

Según mi diccionario, "tentatively" significa provisionalmente, pero por el contexto y el tono de la frase, me parece que quiere decir algo como "con precaución" (que no suena muy bien en español). ¿Cómo lo traducirían ustedes en este contexto?
