Como se traduce "As of" en este caso donde utilizan "have"? Yo usualmente lo traduzco como "a partir de" o "desde" pero he visto casos donde lo traducen como "hasta" asi que me queda la duda... esta es la frase:

"As of December 2008, about 1900 patients have received ABC in research studies"

Hasta diciembre de 2008 o desde diciembre de 2008?

Correcto Marialba, "al" solo puede usarse si está el día. Por eso es que, en este caso, debe usarse "hasta".

If it mean't 'hasta' it would then be followed by 'had' not 'have'. I must confess I had to check this as it had me thinking.

In fact the more I think about it, if it had said

as of (date) x patients HAD received
then I think it would mean AT THAT DATE. But the use of 'have' makes it clear that it means 'since'.

A very tricky English point this.
