Догадываться при переводе нельзя. Если из контекста точно понять суть сказанного не возможно, то выбирается наиболее обтекаемый из возможных вариантов, включающий и более узкие трактовки высказанного. Одно из словарных значений слова must обязательный элемент. Даже по такому узкому контексту понятно, что речь идет о какой-то части чего-то большего. Вот так как-то :)

disagree  Kiwiland Bear: Doesn't make sense//Thank you for the dictionary advice but I'm well past the stage where I need one for common words like that. You really should rely more on your understanding, rather than a literal translation plucked from a dictionary.

  -> Check the dictionary for the meanings of must as noun. Just for curiosity's sake :)/If it were a simple word, why on earth would the person ask the question? :) You can't know all the subtleties even being a native speaker. Self-confidence is dangerous :)
