Guys.. "prescription" here does NOT mean the paper thing; it refers to the medication itself. Upon your medical visit/appointment, the doctor asks you whether you would like to get the paper prescription yourself or that you prefer that s/he sends it immediately to your designated/preferred pharmacy. If you go for the latter option, the pharmacy calls you once your prescription drug/medication is ready to pick up. In many U.S. pharmacies, you can pick up your prescription via the drive though. An ID may be required. This is why the patient may have to go and pick their prescription on a regular basis (monthly refills, for example). The phrase "pick up prescription" is only used in the context of pharmacy. |
