Traduc un text istoric despre cămătari, iar fraza sună cam aşa:

„În contul unei datorii mai vechi, [cămătarul] ridică de la un boier nişte 'boarfe', fără a mai găsi altceva de valoare.”

Dat fiind că şi „boarfe” e citat din documentele vremii, m-ar interesa un termen mai arhaic. Mulţumesc.

"Rags" se refera la haine/tesaturi, deci in acest sens se potriveste. Dar "boarfe" poate sa includa si incaltaminte, obiecte de uz personal, orice "bulendre". Nu am gasit "rummage" ca substantiv cu acest sens in Cambridge si MacMillan:
