English term or phrase: intussusception
Definition from MedicineNet, Inc.:
Telescoping (prolapse) of a portion of the intestine within another immediately adjacent portion of intestine. This decreases the supply of blood to the affected part of the intestine, and frequently leads to intestinal obstruction. The pressure created by the two walls of the intestine pressing together causes inflammation, swelling, and reduces the blood flow.

Example sentence(s):
  • Intussusception is the most common cause of intestinal obstruction among children. Intussusception is rare in adults. Most cases of adult intussusception are the result of an underlying medical condition. In contrast, most cases in children have no demonstrable cause. Mayo Foundation for Medical Education
  • With prompt treatment, most children recover completely from intussusception. Occasionally, complications such as infection can occur if the intussusception is not treated quickly. American Academy of Family Physicians
  • Intussusception is the most common cause of intestinal obstruction in children between ages three months and six years. University of Virginia

wgłobienie jelit

Definition from Wikipedia:
Wikipedia: patologiczny stan, w którym część jelita cienkiego wsuwa się teleskopowo w inną część jelita.

Example sentence(s):
  • Wgłobienie jelit polega na patologicznym wsunięciu się jednego odcinka jelita (najczęściej jelita cienkiego) w drugi. Wgłobienie skutkuje zatrzymaniem pasażu treści pokarmowej (niedrożnością) i niedokrwieniem jelit. - medonet.pl

Explanation:
The term should not be confused with "wgłobienie mózgu" (http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wgłobienie_mózgu), therefore addition of "jelit" to "wgłobienie" seems reasonable.

Nie mylić z "wgłobieniem mózgu".
