big end shell Explanation: The "coussinet" here is referring specifically to the bearing shell, which, as it says, is made of steel. Traditionally the inside of the shell is coated with a soft metal to (paradoxically) reduce wear and friction. If "big end" sounds too familiar, "conrod bearing shell" should cover it. |
