send.

English translation: shipment/delivery

German to English translations [PRO]
Transport / Transportation / Shipping / airline cargo
German term or phrase: send.
Unfortunately, the document in question is a questionaire, so there is practically no context. "Send." is being used as a unit of measure for airline cargo throughput, as in:

Durchsatz ___/___ t
Durchsatz ___/___ Einh.
Durchsatz ___/___ Send.
Durchsatz ___/___ % Send.

I have asked the customer for clarification, but the due date is tommorrow & I thought someone here might have also seen it. TIA for any help.

I assume it is an abbreviation for "Sendung". Not very sure though.

My problem was getting past Send. as "transmissions" (IT context). I am familiar with shipment used regardless of conveyance means (rail, sea, air, road) in the civilian context & believe it more appropriate to the register of the document, particularly once abbreviated "shpmnt." My thanks to everyone for the help.

neutral  hazmatgerman (X): Might have been shipment for sea carriage, but not for air. Delivery won't do here, as it is only the end part of the carriage operation. Regards./Yep, you're right. Greetings.

-> Ah, ok. Thanks. Well, maybe my answer will be useful for a future KOG user who has this term in a sea-related context. :-)
