pharmaceutical association
This is from the code of conduct of a pharmaceutical association. I've provisionally used "becomes involved ... in a coordinating capacity." I'm not happy with this solution and would appreciate suggestions.
Temporary translation:
The Member Companies of the National Association are obligated to inform the Management of the quantity of the medicinal products placed on the market for the purpose of assessing pharmaceutical risks or, under a graduated plan procedure pursuant to § 63 AMG, when so requested to provide the information within an established deadline if the National Association becomes involved for Member Companies in a coordinating capacity.

This is how I would render the sentence:
If the xxx acts in a co-ordinating capacity on behalf of xxx
Not that far from your suggestion, but maybe it will help.

untertakes the coordination
What's throwing me a bit is whether the für is supposed to link the Federal association to the member companies (der Bundesverband für Mitgliedsfirmen wird tätig) or whether it is meant in the sense of "on behalf of" (der Bundesverband wird für die Mitgliedsfirmen tätig).
Probably the latter.
Probably the latter.

Not that dissimilar to Helen's suggestion.
