In EuroDicAutom found the Spanish equivalent of periodo di preammortamento = periodo de carencia de amortización, but no English. I get the feeling that it is the period of time before any depreciation allowance can be calculated on expenditures.

Without more context, I have a feeling that leasing in preammortamento is a lease where the capital payments have not yet commenced meaning that only the interest portion is being paid.
