German term

abgewickelt /Abwicklung

I can't think of an appropriate term for abgewickelt/ Abwicklung in this sentence. Can someone help?

"Buyers closed on 7 units and 3 closings are pending"
so what does not work here, friend TonyTK???
Peer comment(s):

danke Inge!
neutral TonyTK : ... // I think you're missing the point. What the German says IMO is that ALL the sales have been CLOSED (e.g. contract signed) but they haven't all been COMPLETED yet (e.g. money transferred, land registry entry). There's an important difference.

hence my above "3 closings pending" and believe me, here in the USA it IS closing, not completing etc. even though Metzger in Mexico agrees with another suggestion just to spite me. As an (expat) American he really knows better.

thank you, Rosa
agree Anja Wulf (X) : I'd probably word it as "Buyers closed on 7 units, with 3 additional sales pending". I'm a licensed US realtor, and closing refers to a done deal (TonyTK, you need to clarify that point for yourself), and an in-progress sale is a "sale pending".

thanks, Anja, good point!

the sale was completed / completion

the sale of 7 units was completed ..
... while the sale of three units is awaiting completion

hope this is helpful, good luck on your translation

Peer comment(s):

agree TonyTK : I was about to write something similar. "Close" doesn't really work here. But "has been completed" (with "was" you'd need to specify a point in time).
