Powered by a lithium battery for a minimum five-year service life, the device calculates gas volume at base conditions on the basis of consumption data supplied by flow-proportional pulses from the connected meter and the measurements of gas temperature and pressure. The EK205 in the version without a pressure sensor can be used as a temperature converter. The data logging function, serial interface and different data communication protocols allow integration in headend and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

Source text - Portuguese A pandemia de COVID-19 avassalou o mundo no início de 2020 e trouxe progressivamente o conhecimento de que a doença era multissistêmica, decorrente de um processo inflamatório generalizado e que podia se manifestar com formas graves, resultando, nesses casos, em alta morbidade e mortalidade. Frequentemente, nos pacientes em regime de internação, com manifestação de Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave (SRAG), entre os órgãos mais acometidos encontram-se os rins, que se manifesta tanto por lesão renal aguda (LRA) em indivíduos com função renal previamente normal, quanto em pacientes com doença renal crônica prévia que evoluem com piora da função renal (Aroca-Martinez 2022). No exame histopatológico foram encontradas lesões de natureza tubular, especialmente necrose tubular aguda; vascular, com microangiopatia trombótica; intersticial e, em alguns casos, glomerular, notadamente com a forma colapsante da glomerulosclerose segmentar e focal, compatíveis com a apresentação mais frequente, clínica e laboratorial, de lesão renal aguda (LRA). (Pecly 2021a, Sabaghian 2022) Os principais fatores associados ao desenvolvimento da LRA são diabetes, hipertensão e/ou dislipidemia e esses pacientes evoluem com maior tempo de internação e pior prognóstico (Sabaghian 2022), desenvolvendo mais frequentemente a tempestade de citocina e apresentando maior mortalidade. (Kanbay 2022) Por outro lado, também é instigante a situação dos pacientes com doença renal crônica (DRC), por serem mais vulneráveis ao acometimento de casos graves de COVID-19. (Pecly 2021b) Estudo recente mostrou que esses pacientes evoluíram com maior necessidade de terapia renal substitutiva e que a mortalidade aumentou proporcionalmente ao maior estágio de DRC. Translation - English The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the world in early 2020. Gradually, we became aware that we were dealing with a multisystemic disease arising from a general inflammatory process that could lead to severe forms and has high levels of morbidity and mortality. Patients hospitalized with symptoms of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) usually also had their kidneys affected in the form of acute kidney injury (AKI), both among individuals with previously normal renal function and patients with previous chronic kidney disease who evolved with worsening of their renal function (Aroca-Martinez 2022). Histopathological exams revealed different kinds of lesions – tubular, especially acute tubular necrosis; vascular, with thrombotic microangiopathy; interstitial and, in some cases, glomerular, notably the collapsing form of glomerulosclerosis, both segmental and focal, compatible with the most frequent clinical and laboratorial presentation of AKI. (Pecly 2021a, Sabaghian 2022) The main factors associated with AKI development are diabetes, hypertension and/or dyslipidemia. These patients evolve with longer hospitalization and worse prognosis (Sabaghian 2022), are more likely to develop cytokine storm and have higher mortality. (Kanbay 2022) On the other hand, the situation of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is also important since they are more vulnerable to severe forms of COVID-19. (Pecly 2021b) A recent study showed that these patients have higher need of renal replacement therapy and their mortality increased proportionally to CKD stage. (Gur 2022)
