Japanese term

パッキン

Non-PRO Japanese to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks Car parts
It is not an o-ring, I think it means some kind of seal.
By the way, anyone know a good online Japanese-English auto parts dictionary?
Thanks

Again, this word is on the side bar of a website. There is only one word. There is no context. When you click it there are no samples or pictures.
When Japanese customers click that word they have an idea what it is.
ringo42 (asker) Jan 21, 2014:
It is a part or parts of a Carburetor.

This is on a Japanese car used parts website. Is it a seal or a gasket or both?

packing, washer, seal, gasket

The translation would depend on the material and the usage.
Note from asker:
If one had the appropriate automotive background one would probably not be asking such a question on Proz in the first place.
Peer comment(s):

agree Kurt Hammond : Gasket or seal is most common. With appropriate automotive background, most of the English terms should be self-evident.
