在大陆，个人住的房子以前都是单位、国家分的，这叫福利分房，个人每个月交租金，产权不属于个人，所以叫公房，后来国家出台了“房改”（住房改革）政策，把个人租住的房子按照个人的工作年限折价卖给个人，产权变成了个人私有，这就是“售后公房”。这和商品房不一样。
