imho "conjoints" are married partners, and not any other kind of partners. Does not apply to those who are PACSés (civil contract partners).

From the following web sites you'll find that 'cotraitants conjoints' are the opposite of 'cotraitants solidaires'. Can't find a specific English term for 'cotraitants conjoints' but 'co-contractors who are not jointly and severally liable' or something to that effect should convey the meaning.
