Spanish term

jurisprudencia No. (...) con ponencia del magistrado (...)

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general)
En una solicitud de divorcio de Venezuela, aparece:
Motivo: SOLICITUD DE DIVORCIO POR DESAFECTO, FUNDAMENTADO EN LA JURISPRUDENCIA NO.XXX (...) DE LA SALA CONSTITUCIONAL DEL TRIBUNAL SUPREMO DE JUSTICIA DE FECHA (...), ***CON PONENCIA DEL*** MAGISTRADO DR. JUAN MENDOZA JOVER.

Mi traducción: PETITION FOR DIVORCE ON THE GROUND OF LACK OF AFFECTION, FOUNDED IN CASE LAW NO. XXX OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL DIVISION OF THE SUPREME COURT OF JUSTICE DATED (MM/DD/YYYY) 12/09/2016, *WITH THE JUDGEMENT OF* THE MAGISTRATE DR. JUAN JOSE MENDOZA JOVER.

Entiendo que "con ponencia de" se refiere al hecho de que el Magistrado fue quien dictó la sentencia de dicha jurisprudencia. ¿Es así? ¿Alguien me ayuda a encontrar la mejor forma de decirlo para EE.UU.?

Ideas: with the judgement of / judged by / judgement issued by / ordered by / decree ordered by

YES!!!! Thank you very much, I wasn't aware of this!

Beware: "Magistrate" is a false friend. In Spain, Venezuela etc. a "magistrado" is a senior judge or a prosecutor.
In England & Wales, New Zealand. India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and several British commonwealth countries, a magistrate is a judge of a lower court, and in some cases a lay, non-salaried person.

It is generally used in the context of legal decisions or judgments to denote the judge or magistrate who wrote the opinion or decision. It's used to provide attribution to the specific individual who is responsible for the contents of the ruling.

In your given context, it implies that Magistrate Dr. Juan Jose Mendoza Jover was the one who drafted or wrote the ruling in the case law referenced.

It's a more specific term than judged by or ordered by, which could suggest that the person simply made the decision or gave the order, but may not necessarily have written the detailed legal reasoning behind it.

judicial precedent / decided case No. (...) with lead opinion written by Mr. Justice

jurisprudencia : case(-)law.

Mr. (or Mrs. - even when unmarried, though Miss and Ms. now in E&W used in protest) Justice means a Judge: Magistrate in E&W is lower-level, whereas is higher-level in many Roman civil-law jurisdictions.
Example sentence:

Mr. Justice - The title in office of judges in various courts in common law jurisdictions, including: High Court judge (England and Wales) Federal and state court judges in Australia Federal and provincial court judges in Canada High Cour

neutral AllegroTrans : what is your evidence that this is a lead opinion rather than simply a judgment drafted by one of the Hon. Judges?
