How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Much later... The term "talón de pago" cropped up today in software strings I'm translating. There is no useful context, the term appears on its own, so I thought it might be a cheque used as a method of payment, but Google says "pay stub" which would be a receipt or counterfoil, as Phil mentioned below. I agree that without more context, it could be any of a list of possible translations. I'm going to ask the client what they think it means…

@ Marcelo yes it's non pro. it's a simple word with several possible meanings (and no need for a dictionary) depending on context. HOWEVER, context hasn't been given (and no one should hold their breath for it) so no answer should be chosen to go into glossary anyway. And, as I said, why answer when there's no context? No manners either, please/thanks or explanation of asker's difficulty

@Yvonne I can't answer that question for 'all' but I do wonder how you justify voting 'non-Pro' on this. Are you taking something into consideration beyond that pretty short pop-up question of, Would an average bilingual without a dictionary be able to translate this (or something to that effect)? Why take it out on the glossary? If you don't want to answer, then don't. That's my two cents, at least. And I say this/ask this with all due respect, Yvonne. I don't want to argue. Cheers

@ all why bother answering at all? This looks like it's the same person just changing their profile name each time they ask a question. The questions are always asked in a similar way with little or no context and with no further communication.

acknowledgement (stub)

Like a paystub (from years gone by), but here it's so guardians/parents can acknowlege they've seen their child's grades.

Though wordier translations may be possible and 'talón' probably refers to a perforated, detachable stub or (bottom portion of a report card), perhaps 'acknowlegement' would suffice:

"The final day to return the acknowlegement is in 5 days."

Or a less literal option

"Acknowlegements must be returned within 5 days.:
