Hip replacement surgery
This is in a research article about hip replacement surgery. The phrase refers to measuring the amount that the femur is separating from the acetabulum, using the pelvic tear drop as a guide. I think it is the Kohler tear drop distance, but would love to hear from someone who knows this.
Thank you in advance.

distance from the lateral inferior aspect of pelvic teardrop to the acetabular section of the femur
You could go with a more literal translation but I think "teardrop distance" would be a safe bet.
