French term

centrifugation en canard

French to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Hello,

I'm translating a batch report (US English) and I'm wondering how to translate "en canard" here. The context is as follows: If the weight recovered from the homogenization vessel is above 60 kg, then it is necessary to relançant une centrifugation en « canard » until the weight is below 55 kg.

Maybe I'm way off base, but when I see the phrase "en canard", it makes me think of a line of baby ducks following their mother... and therefore, what I'm imagining for this context is that one centrifugation after another is performed until the desired weight is reached. Does that make any sense? Does anyone have a better translation for "en canard" here?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Kind regards,
Sara

loop centrifugation

'En canard' denotes a form of 'recirculation', therefore, a loop.

Réglage du débit

6/ Réglage du débit
Trois moyens sont possibles:
• variation de la vitesse de rotation de la pompe par un dispositif électronique
• vanne de réglage située sur la canalisation de refoulement de la pompe
pour éviter le risque de cavitation: suivant son degré d'ouverture, la perte de
charge du réseau va augmenter ou diminuer ce qui va entraîner la variation du
point de fonctionnement
réglage en "canard" avec renvoi à l'aspiration d'une partie du débit
