Could some native speker please tell me if by this English expression it is possible to denote a secondary school (high school) year? Or is this term only applicable to the University? Many thanks in avance for every answer you can provide!!!

Yes, can apply to ANY academic establishment
It's a pretty imprecise expression, just meaning 'the duration of the opening of an academic establishment'
Generally speaking, it means a year running from September to September, though of course actual term dates are (e.g.) September to July, and universities start later and often finish earlier (e.g. October to May)
So it's just a way of referring to a year that is 'displaced' with respect to the 'normal' year starting in January
