Discussion
"trip" - is the sudden shutdown of the turbine (in an emergency case - to prevent damage to the turbine) - as opposed to "shutdown" - an orderly sequence to turn the turbine off that can take several minutes. Compare with electrical engineering - a circuit breaker (interruttore) "trips" on overcurrent or short circuit when the "release" (sganciatore) senses such a condition. Bottom line - I think is the verb "sgancia"
See here for example: http://www.electropedia.org/iev/iev.nsf/display?openform&iev...
As for coast - it is the free running condition (no power applied) - the speed decreases gradually
