Blank injections of HCl into water were used to determine the
enthalpy associated with dilution of HCl. The measured enthalpy
for each injection was plotted as a function of the proton concentration
(cH+) in the cell after each injection. A curve was* fitted to
the plot* and the fitted line used to calculate the enthalpy of dilution
during the titrations. cH+ over the course of the titrations
was taken from the speciation profiles.
