Por no saber firmar deja su impresión digital

Spanish to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Guatemala Birth Certificate
Hello,
I'm translating a Guatemalan birth certificate into Spanish but I'm not sure how to translate the following sentence:

Por no saber firmar deja su impresión digital de su dedo pulgar derecho

Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks! Could be "placed" or "affixed"
neutral ormiston : surely nobody 'places' or 'affixes' their thumbprint (careless burglars leave them but that's another matter!)

unable to sign he leaves digital impression of right thumbprint

these days no need to ink fingers as most police forces have digital fingerprinters

unable to sign he left his right thumb print

"digital" can be used to refer to fingers or toes and does not mean digital (electronic) in this phrase
Example sentence:

Eg, huellas digitales - fingerprints
