French to English Bus/Financial Computers (general)

This is seen on the side of almost every page of a powerpoint presentation (about a tolling system). It is shown written vertically and in a thin column.
My guess is "extra space", although I do not see the point of it being written alongside completely different information. Any hints appreciated!
