Russian term
чудаки с лампочками
Russian to English
Art/Literary
имеется в виду внешний вид инопланетных пришельцев: эдакие существа с лампочками на головах. если я переведу как aliens with lightbulbs, то будет понятно, об чем речь?..

Quite nice, agreed. Letґs call it 'odd-looking' stranger - bloody alien (just kidding, of course "bloody should be strictly prohibited")

globe-headed aliens, or aliens with globes on their heads
they aren't actual 'lightbulbs', but saying 'intruders with a lightbulb-shaped thing on their heads' is a bit long, no?

: the latter rather than the former. globe-headed suggests to me that their heads are globe-shaped not that they have bulbs on them!

Libero_Lang_Lab
: they are not antennas they are bulbs... and not all wierdos come from other planets as i think Proz.com demonstrates quite adequately.

lamp- or bulb-headed aliens
unlike globe - which does suggest a shape rather than an appendage - i think this construction would work for bulb and lamp.
