"Nel mese di novembre il sindaco di Napoli ha vietato il fumo nei parchi comunali, in presenza di lattanti, bambini fino ai 12 anni e donne in gravidanza." Is this intended as an age range in legal parlance, to be translated as "young babies"? Babies can be weaned within a few weeks or a few years. Why didn't they just ban smoking in parks fullstop?

On my version of Hazon Garzanti it does give "baby as a translation! You are free to use it or not, but trust me it does!

: but seems unnecessary as text also specifies "in the presence of children under 12" - Oxfor Paravia translates "lattante " as "baby" & DeMauro = babies 0-6 mnths.
