You may also consider using: "uma zona de guerra" since at the end of the sentence she ponders which part she had the energy to "attack" first.

That would fit nicely since "debris" suggests that a bomb went off in the room, hence, debris-strewn.

I think it would sound awkward to translate literally. Um quarto com escombros espalhados.

Sugestão PT EU: O quarto está em ruínas.

(Gostaria de saber um pouco mais sobre o contexto já que, como a colega Ivaneide sugere, também pode significar ruínas de guerra. De qualquer forma, aqui fica a minha sugestão. ;) )

Outra sugestão. Desta forma, mantém o sentido do original (*debris-strewn* quase como se se tratasse de uma zona de guerra), sendo que em português não provoca estranheza.
É comum ouvir a expressão "Despojos da noite passada/anterior".
