French term

démobilisation

French to English Bus/Financial Construction / Civil Engineering
This comes from a land lease contract, on which an industrial plant is going to be built, and related to the third party liability policy:

Demobilization does not seem quite right to me. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

removal of construction project materials

Hello,

The meaning of "démobilisation" is: removal of materials from a given site (nature of materials is often indicated). In this case, the translation would be something on the lines of "including four months for the removal of construction project materials" (au titre de la construction = related to the construction project).

This is my understanding.

By the way, "demobilization" can be used in English to mean the "removal of materials from a site". It isn't used that much, however. But, it would not be incorrect.

neutral Sorcha Diskin : in fact demobilisation is used by most contractors.....

I never said it was wrong. I just didn't think it was used that much, particularly in US. I'm not saying that with any certainty.
