Here is a sentence like below:
The judge said to the court reporter,"please strike Mr. Kramer's last remark. Mr. Kramer, what's good for the goose..."

I wonder what's " good for the goose"?

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

An old proverb meaning that the same standards should be applied to both parties in a matter.

If this is from the film "Kramer vs. Kramer" (about a divorce case) it definitely refers to a husband and wife.
