I realize that this has been asked before, but it was a finance context. Salient facts seems very odd to me in this context. Am I over-thinking this???

La zone et les équipements sont-ils vides de tous les composants non nécessaires au lot à produire ?Si NOK à l’une des questions ci-dessus, documenter la raison dans les faits saillants.

Thanks everyone for your help! The client preferred significant events, so that's what I used, but these are all good ideas for future documents. Thanks again for your time and answers!

It sounds to me as though "faits saillants" is the title of a section in a document or a report where the "raison" is to be noted. I'm guessing "NOK" is a typo for "NON."

"Key points" is another possibility.

agree philgoddard : I should have Googled it before I posted my answer. But some references wouldn't go amiss :-)

French term (edited): faits saillants

key points

Like Phil G., I'd say this is a section of the document, and as such, you probably need to give it a title that would be used normally in EN — something like my suggestion here.

BTW, 'NOK' means 'not OK' — it is the opposite of 'OK', just as in EN we sometimes use 'go / no-go'. Curiously, I've come across it more often in FR than I ever have in EN (though it certainly does exist!)
