English to French

Law (general)
Lettre de mission pour un cabinet.
"We shall send you a final bill after completion of the work you have asked us to undertake, or at such other time as our engagement is determined"
Une idée sur cette expression ?
J'aurais tendance à dire : " à tout moment stipulé".
Merci d'avance,

que notre mission se trouve résiliée / est dénoncée
Looks odd and ambiguous, but legalistically used, especially for 'contrats de location' : letting agreements and as a neutral alternative to termination. There may be no active stop put to the engagement (fin mise à la mission), but it may 'determine' by ending on its own 'by effluxion of time' or be 'frustrated' by impossibility, such as the outbreak of war or an earthquake etc.
Anecdotally, a director at my inhouse London translation office once rushed - like a headless chicken - into my room in a panic over the translation into BrE by a UK lawyer of 'determination of the lease' for 'Kündigung eines Mietvertrags' out of the German: 'is it wrong?' he asked. 'Non!' - I replied, 'It's brilliant.'
PS The wording, I am sure, can be construed this way in the UK, but may be unfamiliar to US American Attorneys-at-Law.

During the three (3) months immediately preceding the determination of the Term, the Landlord shall be at liberty to affix and retain without interference upon any external part of the Premises a notice for re-letting the same.
On ne peut que conseiller à l'architecte dont la mission est résiliée en phase de conception d'informer le MO qu'il n'accepte aucune responsabilité pour des plans provisoires, non définitifs.

Merci, Philippe! Determine is an unusual contractual label, used mainly in landlord & tenant law & is otherwise a nasty trap for the unwary. // Merci & thanks for the Discussion Entry teaching me the US American use of the term. I now have egg on my face!

: makes sense, my only reservation is about how would this apply to a contract for supplying services. Do you "rent" an architect or an accountant?

That's reverse logic, Determine, as mentioned, is a general contractual term that can extend to the 'hiring' = louage of services.

: Yes - in Asker's context it refers to premature termination of the mandate.

English term (edited):
at such other time as our engagement is determined
à tout autre moment où notre contract prend fin
simply - doesn't matter why and how it ends.

: “à tout autre moment où notre engagement prend fin” ou “à tout moment lorsqu’il est mis fin à notre mission”.

OK, I know it's not any kind of spectacular improvement to Adrian's proposed answer, but I still think it's worth being offered as an alternative answer.

: tout autre moment is too broad. A contract terminates naturally upon "completion of the work you have asked us to undertake". IOW, the ST must be referring to a moment où notre contract prend fin that occurs before such completion.

Did you look at the ST? As in "... or at such other time as ..."? It's obviously the natural end of the contract as after that ***there would nothing left to terminate***?
