Hungarian term
jogerős büntetést ül
Hungarian to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
criminal law
Ezt nyilatkozza a tanú egy tárgyaláson: "2009 március 2. óta jogerősen ültem. "
A forditas Brit angolban lesz hasznalatos, azon belul is angol-angol.
Az én javaslatom: "I was spending a sentence without parole since March 2, 2009. "

serve a final sentence
Egy körülírás nélküli megoldás:
As at 31 July 2011, of the 66 942 persons detained in Italy, only 37 650, or 56.2%,
were serving a final sentence, whereas 41.2% were in pre-trial detention
http://ec.europa.eu/justice/newsroom/criminal/opinion/files/...
About 21% of the inmates were held in pre-trial detention, and 27% were waiting for a final sentence. On average, 26% of all sentenced prisoners were serving sentences of less than one year, another 26% were serving sentences of one to three years, and 48% were serving longer sentences. 14% of all sentenced inmates were serving sentences of more than 10 years.

Note added at 40 mins (2015-02-23 18:51:59 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
Inmates serving a final sentence in September 2011 had been sanctioned mainly for drug offences (17.5%), theft (17.5%), robbery (12%), and homicide (12%). The average length of imprisonment during the year 2010 was 9 months, and the average duration of pre-trial detention was 5 months.
Én is hozzátenném, hogy Ildikónak igaza van, a "parole" mást jelent.

Comment: "Koszonom. A szovegben ez a rovidebb, koruliras nelkuli fordulat felel meg jobban."

serving a sentence in prison after conviction by final judgment
Véleményem szerint ez a pontos meghatározás.
"conviction by final judgment" - jogerősen elítélve
"serving a sentence" - bortönbüntetését tölti

Kedves evzso!
Köszönöm a kiegészítést!
Ha azt szeretnéd kifejezni, hogy nem tudott az elítélt mással érintkezni, akkor még hozzáírhatod a végéhez azt, hogy "without coming into contact with anyone else", példamondatok: -> "They'll wake up and shower in their cells without coming into contact with anyone else." vagy "But prisoners held in isolation needed to get exercise without coming into contact with anyone else".
