I
have worked for large engineering companies specializing in Civil,
Mechanical & Petroleum Engineering. I have a degree in architecture and
marketing experience. My career as a translator began more than thirty years
ago in Caracas, Venezuela where I was raised and lived most of my life.

I was born in White Plains, New
York. My father, a US citizen, was born and raised in Columbus Georgia. My
mother was born in Barcelona, Spain and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay.  In 1958, my father (who was working for
TEXACO) was transferred to Caracas, Venezuela where I lived for 33 years.

My first spoken language was
English, which I learned from my father, who always communicated with me in
English throughout his life.  On the
other hand, most of my education has been in Spanish, which is also the
language I have always spoken with my mother.

Most of my professional career
has evolved around the English/Spanish languages, while working with
TECNOCONSULT S.A. in Venezuela I acted many times as an interpreter between the
in-house technical groups and companies like PROCTER & GAMBLE and FLOUR
CORPORATION. TECNOCONSULT S.A. specializes in the design and construction of
large industrial projects, including petroleum refineries for major Venezuelan
and international corporations.

In Caracas I worked in the
translation field for four years with Pablo Romero Díaz who was registered in
the US Embassy as a certified translator in four languages, and was in charge
of training and development of students seeking certificate of translation at
the Venezuela Ministry of Justice.

My wife and associate
Silvia R. Eames is a graduate of the Neumann Design Institute and has more than
thirty years experience in the graphic design field.
