I was born in Syracuse, New York, but brought up in Zambia. I grew up bilingual (speaking both English and Bemba). It was in high school that I decided to learn French both at school and at the Alliance Francaise at the Copperbelt University in Kitwe, Zambia. After my secondary education, I did degree in French. I spent a year abroad studying at the biggest Francophone university in North America, Universite Laval. Upon my return to the United States, I finished my degree and did a master's in English. After all, one cannot be a translator without knowing his/her own language very well. During my master's in English program, I was a tutor at the university's Writing Center where I proofread essays with students. You can find the rest of my experiences in my CV. |
