I was born in the UK, I was educated in the UK and I spent 25 years working in the UK. For the last 20 years I have been living and working very successfully as a freelance translator (PT>EN and ES>EN) in Portugal. I'm a trained engineer who can translate, not a language student, claiming to be fluent in English.

My translations benefit from a career of over 25 years working in a range of small and global business. I live in Portugal, am educated at university level in Portuguese Language Studies. I have completed 12 months study (City University, London) towards the Institute of Linguists (IOL) Diploma in Translation, and have been awarded the IOL certificate for the general paper which I took in Lisbon. Living the source language benefits me greatly in my translation assignments.
