Source text - English Islam sees a woman, whether single or married, as an individual in her own right, with the right to own and dispose of her property and earnings without any guardianship over her (whether that be her father, husband, or anyone else). She has the right to buy and sell, give gifts and charity, and may spend her money as she pleases. A marriage dowry is given by the groom to the bride for her own personal use, and she keeps her own family name rather than taking her husband’s.

Translation - Arabic يعتبر الإسلام المرأة، سواء كانت متزوجة أم عازبة، شخصية مستقلة لها حقوق شخصية كحق التملك والتصرف بممتلكاتها وأرابحها بدون وصاية من أحد ( سواء كان والدها أو زوجها أو أي شخص آخر). يحق لها أن تشتري وأن تبيع أو تمنح الهبات و الصدقات، ويمكنها أن تنفق مالها كما تريد. أما المهر الذي يقدمه العريس لعروسه فهو لاستخدامها الشخصي، كما أنها تحتفظ باسم عائلتها بعد الزواج في أغلب الأحيان ولا تتخذ اسم عائلة زوجها اسماً لها.

A child was standing on a street-corner. He leaned with one shoulder against a high board-fence and swayed the other to and fro, the while kicking carelessly at the gravel.
Sunshine beat upon the cobbles, and a lazy summer wind raised yellow dust which trailed in clouds down the avenue. Clattering trucks moved with indistinctness through it. The child stood dreamily gazing.
After a time, a little dark-brown dog came trotting with an intent air down the sidewalk. A short rope was dragging from his neck. Occasionally he trod upon the end of it and stumbled.
He stopped opposite the child, and the two regarded each other. The dog hesitated for a moment, but presently he made some little advances with his tail. The child put out his hand and called him. In an apologetic manner the dog came close, and the two had an interchange of friendly patting and waggles. The dog became more enthusiastic with each moment of the interview, until with his gleeful capering he threatened to overturn the child. Whereupon the child lifted his hand and struck the dog a blow upon the head.
This thing seemed to overpower and astonish the little dark-brown dog, and wounded him to the heart. He sank down in despair at the child's feet. When the blow was repeated, together with an admonition in childish sentences, he turned over upon his back, and held his paws in a peculiar manner. At the same time with his ears and his eyes he offered a small prayer to the child.
He looked so comical on his back, and holding his paws peculiarly, that the child was greatly amused and gave him little taps repeatedly, to keep him so. But the little dark-brown dog took this chastisement in the most serious way, and no doubt considered that he had committed some grave crime, for he wriggled contritely and showed his repentance in every way that was in his power. He pleaded with the child and petitioned him, and offered more prayers.
At last the child grew weary of this amusement and turned toward home. The dog was praying at the time. He lay on his back and turned his eyes upon the retreating form.
Presently he struggled to his feet and started after the child. The latter wandered in a perfunctory way toward his home, stopping at times to investigate various matters. During one of these pauses he discovered the little dark-brown dog who was following him with the air of a footpad.
The child beat his pursuer with a small stick he had found. The dog lay down and prayed until the child had finished, and resumed his journey. Then he scrambled erect and took up the pursuit again.
On the way to his home the child turned many times and beat the dog, proclaiming with childish gestures that he held him in contempt as an unimportant dog, with no value save for a moment. For being this quality of animal the dog apologized and eloquently expressed regret, but he continued stealthily to follow the child. His manner grew so very guilty that he slunk like an assassin.
When the child reached his door-step, the dog was industriously ambling a few yards in the rear. He became so agitated with shame when he again confronted the child that he forgot the dragging rope. He tripped upon it and fell forward.
The child sat down on the step and the two had another interview. During it the dog greatly exerted himself to please the child. He performed a few gambols with such abandon that the child suddenly saw him to be a valuable thing. He made a swift, avaricious charge and seized the rope.
He dragged his captive into a hall and up many long stairways in a dark tenement. The dog made willing efforts, but he could not hobble very skilfully up the stairs because he was very small and soft, and at last the pace of the engrossed child grew so energetic that the dog became panic-stricken. In his mind he was being dragged toward a grim unknown. His eyes grew wild with the terror of it. He began to wiggle his head frantically and to brace his legs.
The child redoubled his exertions. They had a battle on the stairs. The child was victorious because he was completely absorbed in his purpose, and because the dog was very small. He dragged his acquirement to the door of his home, and finally with triumph across the threshold.
No one was in. The child sat down on the floor and made overtures to the dog. These the dog instantly accepted. He beamed with affection upon his new friend. In a short time they were firm and abiding comrades.
When the child's family appeared, they made a great row. The dog was examined and commented upon and called names. Scorn was leveled at him from all eyes, so that he became much embarrassed and drooped like a scorched plant. But the child went sturdily to the center of the floor, and, at the top of his voice, championed the dog. It happened that he was roaring protestations, with his arms clasped about the dog's neck, when the father of the family came in from work.
The parent demanded to know what the blazes they were making the kid howl for. It was explained in many words that the infernal kid wanted to introduce a disreputable dog into the family.
A family council was held. On this depended the dog's fate, but he in no way heeded, being busily engaged in chewing the end of the child's dress.
The affair was quickly ended. The father of the family, it appears, was in a particularly savage temper that evening, and when he perceived that it would amaze and anger everybody if such a dog were allowed to remain, he decided that it should be so. The child, crying softly, took his friend off to a retired part of the room to hobnob with him, while the father quelled a fierce rebellion of his wife. So it came to pass that the dog was a member of the household.

كان الصبي واقفاً في زاوية الشارع. أتكئ بأحد كتفيه على حافة سياج عالٍ متأرجحا بكتفه الثاني إلى الأمام والخلف بينما يضرب بلا مبالاة بعض الحصى.
ضربت أشعة الشمس الشارع المرصوف، ورفعت ريح صيفية كسولة رملاً أصفر تجمع غيوماً أسفل الطريق. مرت من خلالها الشاحنات ذات القعقعة العالية غير متبينة سبيلها. وقف الصبي يحدق حالماً.
بعد قليل، ظهر كلب صغير ذو لون بني داكن مهرولاً على الرصيف بثقة، يجر وراءه حبل قصير يتدلى من عنقه. أحياناً كان يدوس على طرفه فيتعثر.
وقف قبالة الصبي، ونظر كل منهما إلى الآخر. تردد الكلب للحظة، لكنه أظهر بعض التحسن بحركة ذيله. مد الصبي يده إليه وناداه. أقترب الكلب أكثر بحركة اعتذاريه، وتبادل الاثنان لمسات وهزات ودية. كان الكلب يصبح أكثر حماسة مع مرور لحظات المقابلة، إلى أن بدا أنه سيتغلب على الصبي بوثباته المرحة. حينها رفع الصبي يده وفاجأ الكلب بضربة على الرأس.
بدا أن هذا الفعل أحزن وفاجئ الكلب الصغير ذو اللون البني الداكن، وأدمى قلبه. فانهار بيأس تحت أقدام الصبي. وعندما أعيدت الصفعات، مترافقة بكلمات السباب الطفولية، انقلب على ظهره،وقبض مخالبه بطريقة فريدة. وفي نفس الوقت وبأذنيه وعينيه أرسل توسلات صغيرة إلى الصبي.
بدا مضحكاً جداً وهو منقلب على ظهره، قابضاً مخالبه بشكل غريب، شعر الصبي بتسلية كبيرة فربت عليه مرات ومرات، ليبقيه لوضعيته تلك. لكن الكلب الصغير ذو اللون البني الداكن أخذ الأمر على أنه عقاب جدي، ولا شك أنه أيقن أنه قد ارتكب جريمة شنيعة ما، فتلوى معرباً عن ندمه وأظهر توبته بكل طريقة ضمن قدرته. ناشد واستعطف الصبي وقدم مزيداً من التوسلات.
شعر الصبي أخيراً بالملل من هذه اللعبة واستدار عائداً نحو منزله. كان الكلب ما يزال يتوسل إليه. مستلقياً على ظهره ناظراً نحو الهيئة المنسحبة.
ثم ناضل للوقوف على قدميه وأخذ يمشي خلف الصبي. تجول الأخير غير مبال متقدماً باتجاه منزله، متوقفاً بين حين وآخر لتفحص أشياء مختلفة. وخلال إحدى تلك الوقفات اكتشف أن الكلب الصغير ذو اللون البني الداكن يتبعه خطوة بخطوة.
ضرب الصبي مطارده بعصا صغيرة وجدها. افترش الكلب الأرض وتوسل إلى أن أنهى الصبي ضرباته، واستأنف رحلته. حينها نهض واقفاً وعاود ملاحقته.
على طريق العودة لمنزله التفت الصبي عدة مرات وضرب الكلب، مدعياً بحركات طفولية أنه يزدريه ككلب حقير، لا قيمة للاحتفاظ به ولو لبرهة. ولأنها صفة لهذا النوع من الحيوانات استمر الكلب بالاعتذار والتعبير عن أسفه العميق، لكنه ظل يتبعه خلسة. أصبحت هيئته تعبر عن شعور كبير بالذنب بحيث بدا متسللاً كقاتل مستأجر.
وحين وصل الصبي إلى عتبة داره، كان الكلب يسير متمهلاً على بعد ياردات قليلة خلفه. تزايد شعوره بالخجل حينما واجه الصبي مجدداً مما أنساه الحبل الذي يجره. فزلت قدمه حين داسه وسقط إلى الأمام.
جلس الصبي على درجة السلم وجرت بين الاثنين مقابلة ثانية. خلال هذه المقابلة بذل الكلب جهداً كبيراً لإرضاء الصبي. فنفذ عدة وثبات مرحة جعلت الصبي يعتبره فجأة شيئاً ذو قيمة. قام بحركة التفافية شحن نفسه بشكل شحيح وقبض على الحبل.
جّر أسيره إلى داخل بهو وصعد به درجاً طويلاً في مسكن مظلم.بذل الكلب جهوداً خانعة، لكنه لم يستطع أن يعرج بمهارة صاعداً الدرجات لأنه كان صغيراً جداً وطري العظم، و في النهاية غدت خطوات الصبي أكثر نشاطاً بحيث أصبح الكلب مروع الفؤاد هلعاً. بالنسبة إليه كان يظن أنه يسحب إلى مصير مظلم مجهول. اتسعت عيناه أكثر والخوف يملؤها. وبدأ يهز رأسه باهتياج شديد مثبتاً قدميه.
ضاعف الصبي جهوده. وجرت بينهما معركة على الدرج. كان الصبي هو المنتصر فيها لأنه كان مقتنعاً تماماً بهدفه، ولأن الكلب كان صغيراً جداً. استخدم كل براعته إلى أن وصل باب داره، وأخيراً بلغ منتصرا تخومه.
لا أحد كان في المنزل. جلس الصبي على الأرض وقدم اقتراحات للكلب. قبلها الكلب فوراً. وأغدق عواطفه على صديقه الجديد. وخلال وقت قصير رسخت بينهما عرى صداقة قوية وثابتة.
وحين حضرت العائلة، وقفوا جميعاً في صف طويل. تم فحص الكلب و قدمت تعليقات عليه وأطلقت عليه الأسماء. الاحتقار كان متفاوتاً في عيونهم فشعر بإحراج شديد واستلقى على الأرض كنبتة ذابلة. لكن الصبي وقف بعناد في وسط الغرفة، وبأعلى صوته، مدافعاً عن الكلب. وحدث أنه كان يهدر بكلمات الحماية له، وذراعيه تعانقان عنق الكلب حينما عاد الوالد من عمله.
أراد الوالد معرفة الأمر الهائل الذي يجعلهم يدفعون الولد للعواء عليه. شرحت له القصة بكلمات كثيرة وأن الولد الجهنمي يريد إدخال كلب حقير على العائلة.
عقد مجلس عائلي. يتعلق به مصير الكلب، لكنه لم يبالي بذلك، بل كان منشغلاً بمضغ طرف ثوب الصبي.
انتهت المشكلة بسرعة كبيرة. فوالد العائلة، على ما يبدو، كان مزاجه سيئا بشكل خاص ذاك المساء، وعندما أدرك أن الأمر سيدهش ويغضب الجميع إن حدث وُسمح لكلب كهذا بالبقاء، قرر أن يكون الأمر كذلك، أخذ الصبي صديقه مبتعداً وهو يبكي بصمت، إلى ركن منعزل من الغرفة لرفع الكلفة بينهما بينما كان الوالد يقمع ثورة زوجته. وهكذا حدث أن أصبح الكلب عضواً في العائلة.

There I gained my real experieince meeting experts coming to visit the company and translating their reports, comments and recommandations to my management.
I write short stories in my spare time, and had published two collections of short stories. then I started to translate some of them into English and published them in www.lit.org.
Also I translated several stories for the famous writer Virginia Wolf and published them on www.ArabicStory.net
My top interest fields are litrature, stories, history, education, religion, and social science. but because I worked for many years in commerical organisation, then in the Medical company, I am able to translate issues related to these fields too.
